The Friends of Rainbow Springs State Park (FORS) Membership is open to any persons/individuals, partnerships or corporations interested in the objectives of this organization, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin or physical disability. FORS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax exempt to the extent allowed by the law.
Members of FORS receive a pass entitling his/her family to 12 FREE DAYS to the Park. Members also receive subscription to the FORS newsletter that provides the latest organization news, park manager’s report, project status and calendar of events. Members-Only activities may be made available throughout the year as the Board of Directors determines. Voting members can participate in the direction of the organization through the election of the members of the Boar of Directors and can participate as Committee Chairs/members.
The original group of supporters has grown from 30 volunteers to approximately 150 members. FORS volunteers continue to be integral part of the park, contributing over 18,000 volunteer hours annually. A substantial percentage of that time is in the area of Visitor Services.
FORS is always looking for new, dedicated members. Many opportunities are available for FORS members including committees for fundraising activities, membership, finance, event planning, gardening, construction, patrol boat operations, program support, interactive programs and much more. No matter how big or small your abilities, talents or time, FORS can use you. Join us at our next general meeting held the second Tuesday of each month at 1pm (excluding July & August).
